Why we need wellness at home

We are all living in a much faster, more demanding environment as we become reliant on technology. It is the way we communicate; the way we shop; the way we manage money. Without it we are lost. But with this new efficiency comes isolation and stress. We lose personal contact; the art of talking; the pressure to immediately respond at all times of the day. We are bereft of time and are forgetting the joys of simple living. We are also under increasing pressure to be mindful of the environment; to eat less meat; to recycle; to reduce our carbon footprint. We are all juggling busy lives, whether that’s raising children, building a career, working out at the gym or caring for others. We want to spend our free time socialising or just sitting on the sofa watching TV rather than tidying the house. As our health suffers, we seek help from therapies, doctors and personal trainers. We try to do it all.

We then return home and try to relax in an environment that only adds to our stress. We are too exhausted to look after our home as we would like. We are surrounded by chaos. We need homes that make life easier. Mindful design takes into account not only the aesthetics of your environment, but the practical considerations. The design choices are considered. A room needs to smell beautiful when you enter it; to appeal to your senses. The colours need to make you feel at ease.
